Problematic Processed Foods

As obesity and healthproblems increase, it is fairly obvious to create a link to the food we consume.  As well, the world is experiencing extreme pollution and climate changes, as well as a decreasing supply of natural resources such as water and fossil fuels.

A recent study said that ninety percent of the money Americans spend on food is spent on processed foods, and that seventy percent of processed foods have genetically modified foods in them.  This is a problem for many reasons:
  1. Processed foods generally produce more waste.
  2. These foods can be very unhealthy.
  3. Producing these foods depletes natural resources and in turn creates excessive pollution.
  4. Producing GM foods harms the land and polutes it with chemicals.
